When it comes to attracting money, one of the most important elements is having the right mindset.

It's what all successful people possess, their mindset is what takes them to the next level and creates a gateway to abundance.

Do you have the right frame of mind for manifesting money?

You probably know already, The law of attraction works by focusing thoughts on what you want, but for many, this is where people unknowingly get it wrong.

If you are wishing for more money in your life, but aren't seeing any results then you may have a poverty mindset.

A poverty mindset has more than likely been programmed into your subconscious, but don't worry, I'll share 5 signs on how to spot if you have one or not.

First, let me tell you a story.

Years ago now I struggled to attract and manifest money in my life.

I was working a full-time job as a kitchen hand and only making enough to survive.

I was living out my parent's garage, and although the living expenses weren't much I still found myself piled in lots of bills.

I was spending money that I didn't have, and racking up more and more debt, you see I used to try and act like I had more than I did.

I always had the latest phone and a new car, all that I couldn't actually afford...

Basically, my whole perception of money was wrong, I created the illusion of living a nice lifestyle but I ended up dreading money and working really long hours.

After learning about the law of attraction and discovering that it really is a thing, and not just some 'woo woo' magic I initially thought, I bought a booked called 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill.

Long story short, after reading the book my perception of money completely changed.

I eventually paid off all my debts, and started working as an intern, I then worked my way up and now invest in stocks and travel around the world.

From what I have learned through reading books, listening to live talks and doing hours of mindset research I've compiled this list to help distinguish a money mindset from a poverty mindset.

1.) You envy other peoples success

Perhaps you have friends or family that are doing slightly better than you right now, or maybe its a douchey guy on tv gloating about not having to work but still earning millions.

No matter what the success is you can't stomach to see it, no matter how hard you try and hide it or commend others for their achievements, you long to have the same accolades.

That's understandable, but envying or despising other people's success is a true sign that you have a poverty mindset.

If you're thinking things like; "I work way harder than them, how come I don't have what they have?"

This will only hold you back, and just remember it's temporary, your big breakthrough could be right around the corner!

Dwelling on what you don't have will attract more of what you don't want, so the next time you see or hear about others doing well, feel grateful for having those influences in your life.

Drop your ego and instead feel inspired, if they're out there doing what you want to achieve, then learn and replicate from them instead of despising them.

2.) Bills bring anxiety.

When you get sent a bill does it bring stress, fear, anger or anxiety?

Bills aren't fun and no one really likes receiving them, but if you're tearing your hair out over the thought of a bill, then this brings bad associations around money altogether.

You see money is made up of energy just like everything else on this earth, so if your emotions around money are negative then this creates more of what you don't want, not having any money (remember like attracts like).

Using gratitude will help ease the pain of receiving a bill in the mail.

You don't need to jump in the air yelling 'Yippie a bill!' But showing appreciation is a helpful step to eliminate a poverty mindset.

So be thankful that you can have a roof over your head, power or internet, you are already more privileged than most if you have these.

3.) Making Excuses

There is nothing that will hold you back more than making an excuse for yourself, the old saying goes;

"Those who say they can, and those who say they can't, are both usually right".

So, if you're trying to come up with an excuse like the ones below, then this will definitely hold you back from manifesting money.

  • I'm not smart enough.

  • My parents aren't wealthy so I don't have the support.I don't live in the right community.

  • No one believes in me so what's the point.

  • You can only get rich by working hard.I'm not good enough to do that.

All of these are limiting beliefs, and quite frankly are just an excuse, it is probably the biggest setback and poverty mindset you can possibly have.

There are plenty of people out there who are major successes that did it without money, schooling, or any "advantages" that the rich people have.

Look at talk show host Oprah Winfrey, her story is incredible.

From a poverty-stricken home, living in a potato sack for clothes to being a billionaire.

She had major setbacks, but she did not let that define her, she created the life she wanted and defied all odds, why?

Because she didn't make any excuses and believed it could happen.

4.) Thinking 'this is it..'

Settling for what you don't have, is like saying;

"Well this is just my life, and I guess that's how it's supposed to be".

Sometimes it's hard to foresee the big fancy car or dream house, but just because you don't have it now doesn't mean you will never get it..

Doesn't matter what age you are, there's still time to do what you truly want.

Morgan Freeman also launched his acting career in his late 50's too!

There are many more success stories of people achieving their dreams "late" into their lives, the key is to create strong visualizations for yourself.

Feeling optimism for the future will escape the rat race and clear your poverty mindset.

5.) Not being consistent.

Showing up every day is what creates the will from the want.

Now, I'm not meaning for you to slave your ass off all day, but taking actionable steps towards success every day is what you must do to escape a poor mindset.

The steps can be big or small but must be consistent, these could be things like;

It's important to do these on days you particularly don't want to, there is a huge difference between motivation and discipline.

Motivation keeps you going for a few days but often fades out, where is discipline creates a repeated pattern to help achieve what you want.

So try and show up every day, even when you don't want to, this will then result in creating a burning desire.

Conclusion:

Having the right frame of mind is crucial to manifesting money in your life, without it you'll be like a dog chasing its tail.

Success comes from within, so if you resonate with any of the signs above you need to look into that as soon as possible...

Now don't stress!

I had the same problem years ago and if you are aware enough, you are already on the right track!

My best advice right now would be to get a copy of Think and Grow Rich, it will really change your life!!
